Global Gender Studies : Degrees & Policies

Advisement

Students interested in pursuing a BA, joint major, or minor in global gender studies must speak with the director of undergraduate studies to discuss their interests in the program, as well as to plan their sequencing of courses to meet all criteria.

The global gender studies program offers courses across three inter-related areas. Students must complete one course in each of the three areas. Choose from the following:

Students are required to take an additional 12 credit hours of electives in global gender studies. Students must get permission from the director of undergraduate studies to substitute elective courses taken outside of the program. In addition, 15 of the 36 total credit hours needed for the GGS major/double major must be upper-level (i.e., 300 or 400 level). These 15 credits may include courses taken in fulfillment of the major requirements.
