About Our Faculty
The Creative Writing Faculty are published poets and fiction writers, representing a broad range of stylistic approaches and techniques. The 2014-2015 Director of Creative Writing is Dimitri Anastasopoulos, Associate Professor of English.
About Our Degree
Acceptance Criteria To be admitted, students are required to be matriculated at UB with a 2.0 overall GPA. In order to progress to the upper division courses, students must pass the Completion of the program
the prerequisite course, ENG 207: Introduction to Writing Poetry & Prose Fiction with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Students must maintain a minimum average GPA of 2.3 in required and elective certificate courses in order to be awarded the Certificate upon completion of their Bachelors Degree.
Degrees Offered This is not a degree program. Being awarded the Creative Writing Certificate is contingent upon successful completion of an undergraduate program at UB. The Creative Writing Certificate
Program must be completed concurrently with the student's undergraduate degree program.
Application Information Any student from any major may take the certificate curriculum. However to progress, they must complete the first course prerequisite, ENG 207:
