About Our Courses

GGS 101 Introduction to Gender and Women's Studies is a good overview of what global gender studies offers students; however, for more advanced students, a discussion with the director of undergraduate studies may help to place the student in a higher level course that addresses their current interests and academic focus.

About Our Faculty

The Global Gender Studies program has core faculty within the Department of Transnational Studies who have distinguished themselves as scholars and teachers, recipients many research grants, fellows and visiting professors in prestigious national and the international universities. This faculty is joined by renowned affiliated faculty from throughout the university and western New York, as well as research collaboration with scholars of women's studies globally. Our faculty have published monographs and articles, edited major journals and served on prestigious scholarly boards in the United States and abroad. They have also been awarded distinguished teaching awards.

Practical Experience and Special Academic Opportunities

Internships are possible for academic credit in consultation with the department's Director of Undergraduate Studies and the supervising faculty member.

Undergraduate students are encouraged to meet together and participate in the activities of the undergraduate Global Gender Studies student association to develop a sense of community.
